Version 8.1.2 of AuditWizard Network Inventory Software Offers Customer Requested Improvements – New Reporting Engine and Upgraded Dashboard.
TAMPA, Fla., January 22, 2010 – Layton Technology, Inc. today announced a significant enhancement to the reporting functionality of AuditWizard™, its leading PC auditing software.Layton Technology, a developer of innovative network inventory and web based help desk software, has released AuditWizard Version 8.1.2 – Software Asset Management Tool (SAM). The two major improvements in AuditWizard 8.1.2 – a new reporting engine and an upgraded dashboard – resulted directly from customer input.
AuditWizard was first introduced in February 2000 and continues to offer customers an effective Software Asset Management tool to manage their network inventory, software licenses and hardware.
Today, AuditWizard network inventory software is utilized by more than 10,000 organizations of all sizes – global enterprises to small and medium-sized businesses – to manage in excess of 3.5 million network assets.
AuditWizard 8.1.2 can significantly reduce IT spend and maximize budgets. The new reporting capability in Version 8.1.2 quickly and easily provides IT personnel with information they need to manage those devices, such as PCs, servers, laptops, printers, routers, hubs and more.
According to information technology research and advisory company Gartner, Inc., the introduction of an effective SAM program has the potential to reduce company IT costs by up to 30 percent.
“Version 8 was a major upgrade of AuditWizard because it was written in a new language -- .NET. In addition, we built a new user interface, a new dashboard view and a new SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) audit function,” said Glenn Powell, Project Manager of Layton Technology, Inc. “So Version 8.1.2, with its augmented reporting functionality, actually delivers another major update with significant new benefits.”
AuditWizard 8.1.2 can identify all IT assets on a multi-national, enterprise network on which a particular software program is installed. IT personnel can then drill down into that information, identifying which PCs run a particular program as well as determining the license status of the program on individual PCs – current or expired.
Requests for information also can scheduled, with the results provided to IT and/or management via E-mail. For example, a software compliance audit could be scheduled every Monday morning at 5 a.m.
Additional features of the reporting engine include the ability to easily sort data by dragging and dropping columns and smart filters that enable all manner of queries – from simple to complex -- to be initiated easily and completed quickly.
“AuditWizard network inventory Software Version 8.1.2 is a testament to the flexibility of Layton Technology as a company and the skill of our software engineers,” said Mr. Powell. “The new reporting module and dashboard is the result of customer requests for enhanced reporting functionality. We are really excited about this new release and believe existing AuditWizard customers will be equally as enthusiastic after they see it in action on their network.
“AuditWizard 8.1.2 is an example of our commitment to the continued development and improvement of AuditWizard, our leading network inventory product, to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers and their network inventory requirements.”
AuditWizard 8.1.2 network inventory tool is available as a free upgrade to existing customers of Version 8 or any variant within Version 7 that have a support contract.
Layton Technology announced Version 8 of AuditWizard via a press release on its Website on Friday, November 20, 2009.
The upgraded dashboard has vibrant, inter-active graphics that makes it easy for IT personnel to analyze data obtained from even the most complex queries in a snap.
And a free trial version of AuditWizard 8.1.2 PC auditing software is available for download.
