AuditWizard

What is network auditing?
Network auditing is a process in which computers on a network are scanned and an inventory of software, hardware, peripherals, etc. is recorded, analyzed, and reported to the administrator responsible for the audit.

What benefits does AuditWizard offer organizations?
AuditWizard is a fast and easy way to gain control of a network system’s inventory. Whether it’s a PC, server, USB device, Smartphone, PDA, or flash card, AuditWizard can detect, analyze, and report on it, letting the administrator know exactly what is on the network at all times. This enables businesses to plan for future system developments, accurately budget for software upgrades and ensure licensing compliance. With software piracy laws getting tougher, with fines up to as much as $250,000, auditing software for licensing has become essential for any organization.

How does AuditWizard differ from other auditing software?
AuditWizard is remarkably fast and easy to use. Audits are performed literally within minutes of the software’s installation. It also audits a broader range of devices than other software in its class. At the same time, AuditWizard is more economical than other solutions.

Tell me about real-world scenarios where AuditWizard is delivering value.
Goodmans Office Furniture has saved a significant amount of money and time over the past two and a half years with AuditWizard. AuditWizard enables the company’s three-person IT department to manage more than 200 PCs in three cities with minimal effort. Goodmans has gone from reacting to unplanned changes, to proactively managing its PC and laptop environment. The company’s furniture specification software is updated monthly. Before AuditWizard, Goodmans would have to contact individual employees to confirm that updates occurred on each desktop, or risk having incorrectly specified furniture being ordered. Today, with one report, AuditWizard quickly identifies the users who need to be updated, and ensures the updates happen quickly. Food vending and management company, Covenco, Inc. has six locations serving areas in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. The company offers vending services, corporate catering, cafeteria service, and inmate commissary services to local prison facilities. When Covenco received a letter from the Business Software Alliance (BSA) about the possibility of being audited, executives knew they did not have enough licenses to cover what was installed across the business. Using AuditWizard, Covenco was able to quickly see how many computers it had, and what was installed on each of them. With this information in hand, the company was able to identify systems that needed updated licenses, thereby avoiding penalties the BSA would impose if unlicensed software was discovered. AuditWizard also helped Covenco settle on a uniform version of the operating system, and Microsoft Office. Covenco now uses AuditWizard on a daily basis to check on updates and service packs.

What devices does AuditWizard audit?
AuditWizard can detect and audit all software such as operating systems, instant messaging applications, and p2p clients; all hardware devices such as motherboards, hard drives, and video cards; all removable media such as CDs, DVDs, and floppy disks; and all peripheral devices such as USB drives, iPods, and digital cameras.

HelpBox

What does help desk software do?
Help desk software assists organizations in tracking user service requests, automating daily support tasks, monitoring and managing the delivery of IT services, generating request logs, and tracking troublesome network incidents.

What benefits does HelpBox offer organizations?
HelpBox offers enterprise PC support teams a better solution for managing service requests and subsequent remediation. With HelpBox, support organizations can work more efficiently and productively.

How does HelpBox differ from other help desk software?
HelpBox delivers world class help desk functions at a much lower price point than comparable packages. In addition to this initial value, HelpBox can also be integrated with AuditWizard to provide asset inventory information.

Tell me about real-world scenarios where HelpBox is delivering value.
The Marshfield Public School district consists of approximately 500 to 700 users of HelpBox and 800 to 1000 PCs. HelpBox has helped to alleviate the burden of the support team to log in every incident—instead giving the power to request support to the people who need it most: end users. Marshfield technical support can now schedule work by priority, assign different jobs to different technicians, notify the end user when work is scheduled and when the work is finished, gather more information from the end user than ever before, and build solutions on the fly. In addition, HelpBox has proven to be extremely flexible, growing with the school district’s needs. Marshfield has seven schools with seven technical support staff members at each location. With HelpBox's auto assignment by location feature, all staff members receive their school’s request without a manager needing to manually assign them. Additionally, the team is able to access HelpBox from any location using the Web interface and customize and generate numerous reports on all aspects of end user requests.

Can HelpBox take advantage of the information collected by AuditWizard?
Yes. HelpBox can link with AuditWizard to provide valuable PC inventory data to the help desk team. With up-to-date information about each user’s PC at their fingertips, support staff can easily diagnose problems and offer remediation as quickly as possible.

What benefits does DeviceShield™ offer organizations?
